Introducing the Questions Sticker

Introducing the Questions Sticker

Instagram added a polling feature some months ago to its ephemeral stories. Today, the company is introducing a new twist on polling with the questions sticker, which lets your friends submit questions for you to answer in a subsequent story post. Instagram says it’s “a way to start conversations during moments when you don’t necessarily have a photo or video to share.” In other words, it’s a way to ensure that people continue posting even if they have totally run out of content ideas.

Today we’re introducing an interactive questions sticker in Instagram Stories that lets your friends submit questions for you to answer. It’s a fun new way to start conversations with your friends so you can get to know each other better.

Instagram Stories just got way more interactive with the new question sticker!

While we first got wind of the feature last week, according to an announcement from Instagram, question stickers are officially being rolled out on both iOS and Android in version 52 of the app.

Unlike poll stickers and emoji sliders, both of which allow users to “vote” on questions that you submit when you add a question sticker to your Instagram story, other users submit questions for you to answer. So basically, it puts your followers in the driving seat!

Ready to learn all there is to know about Instagram’s new question sticker? Here we go:

Add a question sticker to your story by selecting it from the sticker tray after taking a photo or video. Type out your prompt then place it wherever you’d like and share it with your story. When friends see the sticker, they can tap it to reply — and they can reply as many times as they want, right from the sticker.

You can find your friends’ responses in your story’s viewers list. Tap any question they’ve asked to create a new story where you can answer it, and the question you’re answering will appear on your story for context. Though you’re able to see who submitted each response in your viewers' list where it’s private, when you share that response in your story, your friend’s photo and username will not be shown.

Along with the polling sticker and emoji slider, the question sticker gives you another easy way to get closer to all of your friends on Instagram.
